Nainital

Located at an altitude of 1938 meters above sea level is the beautiful hill station of Nainital. 304 km from Delhi the hill station has been a popular tourist destination for many years owing to the emerald waters of the Naini Lake and the well organized infrastructure which caters to almost every need. Nainital lies in the Gagar Valley where the Gagar range crisscrosses it from east and west.

In the north lies the China Peak (8568 feet) and the Snow View Mountain, The Sher - Ka - Danda peak in the extreme east, the Deopatha in the west, while the Ayarpatha lies in the south. The Naini Lake is the main tourist attraction of the town; in fact Nainital owes its very name to the lake. The lake is 1935 meters above sea level and its depth varies from 28 meters to 6 meters. Most of the hotels and shops can be found on the Mall road (now known as G.B. Pant road), which surrounds the lake.
